Upper Eye Lid Surgery (Upper Blepharoplasty)

Upper Eye Lid Surgery (Upper Blepharoplasty) is cosmetic surgery performed by Consultant Plastic Surgeon, Mr Philip Lim.

As the ageing process occurs, naturally the loss of elasticity in the skin falls, and the skin and muscles weaken and stretch. This gives the appearance of drooping, over hanging skin around the upper eye lid. For ladies it is very difficult to apply eye shadow, upper eye liner and even mascara. It can even obstruct vision in extreme cases.

The result of the procedure is a less tired, more open eye area and a more youthful appearance. This procedure is suitable for both men and women.

Treatment Summary

Upper Blepharoplasty is the cosmetic procedure used to re contour the eye lid and remove excess skin and fat from the upper eye lid, the aim is to remove hooded or drooping eyelids. The procedure involves making a cut in the natural skin crease of the upper eye lid. Then, excess skin and fat will be removed and the wound closed using very fine stitches. The procedure is performed under a local anaesthetic.
