At Innersense Aesthetics Medical we offer cryotherapy to remove certain lesions. During your thorough face-to-face consultation the Practitioner will advise of the most suitable form of removal and determine the amount of treatments needed.

What is Cryotherapy?

Cryotherapy is a procedure that involves freezing an area of skin using liquid nitrogen to therapeutic effect. It is an effective treatment for various skin problems, including seborrhoeic keratosis, warts, verrucae, skin tags, and sun damage lesions.

How long does the procedure take?

Your initial appointment will be 45 minutes, which includes a medical consultation but the cryotherapy procedure itself only takes a few seconds per lesion.

1 treatment of cryotherapy will, in most cases, treat the lesion fully, some however may require a further treatment.

The number of treatments needed for viral warts & verruca's is typically around 3, with treatments scheduled every 2 to 3 weeks. Skin problems like sun damage and warty growths may only require one treatment. However, it is important to note that the success of the treatment may vary and sometimes more than one treatment is required.

Aftercare

After your treatment, it will be advised to wear an SPF 50-100. The treated areas may appear red and some blistering may appear.  Clear fluid may ooze from the wound for five to 14 days until it forms a scab. The will fall off on its own.
