National Weight Loss Programme

What is it?

The National Medical Weight Loss Programme (NMWLP) offers medical support, advice, and treatment options to help you on your weight loss journey which is approved by Nursing and Obesity Associations. The programme is for patients with a BMI over 30. Innersense Aesthetics Medical is a certified partner of the National Medical Weight Loss Programme.

How does it work?

This clinically proven prescribed medication works by safely controlling your hunger by acting on receptors in the appetite control centre of the brain. As well, the treatment can help postpone the emptying of the stomach, causing you to feel fuller quicker and for longer periods. These combined measures are clinically proven and can help you lose weight, control your appetite, curb hunger, and help release stored fat.

What happens first?

You will have a full medical consultation with Registered Nurse Lee, during which she will take some body measurements and discuss your overall health and well-being. This consult will include exploring your weight journey and prior methods used to manage your weight and health. During this consultation we will assess your suitability for a medical weight loss programme as well as exploring other options available to you via your GP and alternative weight loss therapies and support. You will receive a copy of the consultation letter.

What happens throughout the process?

We will invite you back to clinic every 4 weeks to check your progress and discuss the next steps and if appropriate to continue to prescribe the treatments. We will also discuss your steps to incorporate a fitness programme to support weight loss. Once you have reached your ideal weight, we can then advise on a maintenance programme and support steps to maintain weight loss.
Any Programme must also incorporate a healthy diet a fitness programme.

Disclaimer: There are no guarantees that weight loss can be achieved thoroughly using these medications.
